How to use uTorrent?

1.    How can I create a new torrent?

It is rather easy to create a new torrent. To do that select "Create New Torrent" issue in the "File" menu. Then a window will appear on the screen offering you to select the file source you will be sharing later. You can choose a single file or a group of files excluding some of them from sharing.

2.    How can I add a torrent?

You can add a torrent to the list either from your computer or from the network. If you have a file you want to share with other users you can add it in the following way:

a) select "Add Torrent" issue in the "File" menu
b) select "Add Torrent"issue in the "Torrents" menu by right clicking on it

If you want to share a file that will be downloaded by you from the Internet you have to find it first and then download to your computer using uTorrent. To do that:

1.    Look through the torrent sites and choose those files from the list you want to download and then click "Download This Torrent". Such file types will be recognized by your uTorrent and automatically downloaded by it.

2.    If you download files that don’t belong to the torrent sites then save them to your hard disk and add to the uTorrent lists following one of the methods described above.
 You uTorrent will help you to find any files you are interested in. to do that enter supposed file name in the search line and select the search source from the list:

3.    How can I listen or watch a file?

Use "Play" button for this purpose. After clicking on it a window will appear offering you to choose a program to listen to a torrent or watch it. Having selected the program from the list click "OK".

4.    What are Toolbar buttons used for?

These buttons make your work with uTorrent much easier and faster, granting fast access to all its main functions:

5.    How can I start file sharing?

After uTorrent has completed the download of the file selected by you it will automatically start sharing it. If you want to share some file you have already on your computer then choose this file from the list and click on "Play Torrent" on the Toolbar. The file status will be changed for "Seeding". This means that the file is being shared at the moment. In the lower part of the window you can see detailed information about the torrent being shared: the number of seeds and peers, file share ratio, its status etc.

6.    How can I stop file sharing?

You can both pause torrent sharing or even stop it. To do that use convenient "Pause Torrent" and "Stop Torrent" buttons on the Toolbar:

7.    How can I remove torrent?

If you want to completely remove torrent from the library and never use it again select it from the list, right click on it and select "Remove" menu issue. "Remove And" issue allows to choose additional conditions of torrent removal.

If it is not one but all torrents from the list you want to remove then you can do then much faster by right clicking on "Torrents" located in the left window corner and select "Remove" menu issue. However, remember, that this action will lead to removing all torrents in your list.

8.    How can I check my uTorrent speed?

You can check yourself the speed your uTorrent downloads and shares files. In order to do that select "Speed" inlay in the lower window corner and you will see the program performance speed. Besides, you have a possibility to track speed of any separate action selecting it from the list.

9.    How can I change program interface?

You can do that using free application called "Skins" offered by the uTorrent Application Studio. Just choose the skin you like from the list and click "Install":

10.    How can I define the information to be displayed in the window?

In your uTorrent window various information about files is displayed, namely name, size, ranking, download source etc. After right clicking on this panel you can add or remove any issues from this list on your own. The issues you are using are marked with tick. To remove them just click on them. You can also add new issues from the list by clicking on them:

11.    How can I change interface language?

You should install utorrent.lng. Only then you will be able to change interface language by choosing "Select the language" function.

12.    How can I apply additional uTorrent settings?

First of all, choose "Preferences" issue in "Options" menu. A window will appear allowing you to set and adjust a lot of additional functions thus controlling its performance. You are to simply select the issue you need from the list on the left and tick it off. Then click "Ok".
